Indiana Dunes in January

A beautiful, if cold, day at the Indiana Dunes

The Background

A continuation of my vignette series, this video was to be a pure examination of the experience of being at the dunes in the cold of January.

The Concept

Bring my sister and niece to the dunes, see what I could capture.  Focus on details and the feeling of being there.

The Execution

When we arrived, it was well into sunset so I had little time to waste.  I grabbed my tripod and shot as quickly as possible.  I didn’t end up shooting my sister and niece that much because they wanted to explore and I had to make the most of what was around me.  I didn’t want to travel too far and lose all of the light getting to a spot that might not work.

I concentrated on what made the biggest impressions on me.  Luckily, details were being highlighted all around me.
